GABRIEL DE PEDRO (Spanish)

 Pianista, compositor, arreglador y docente nacido en la ciudad de Santa Fe-Argentina, dedicado al mundo de la Música Popular Contemporánea.

 Es Profesor egresado del Instituto Superior de Música de Santa Fe de la UNL. En el 2007 y 2010 fue premiado por sus composiciones a nivel nacional e iberoamericano, en el 2008 fue distinguido por la Academia Nacional del Tango en Rosario he invitado a tocar en la cede de Capital Federal. También participó del Festival Internacional de Tango de Quito, Ecuador. Invitado especialmente a representar a Santa Fe en el ciclo " Patria Tanguera" del CCK (2016) y en el Festival y Mundial de Tango 2013 (Piano y director " Postangos" de Gerardo Gandini) y 2017 junto a Andrea Eletti.

En su ciudad fue elegido por los Premios Escenarios 2014 y Mascara 2015.

Ha participado en formaciones de Jazz, Latinjazz, Blues y Tango, actualmente dirige su propio Quinteto de Tango.

Sus participaciones han llegado a países como Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, Uruguay y a más de 10 tours por USA (New York, Birmingham-Alabama, Atlanta, Yellow Spring-Ohio, Long Island, Memphis-Tennessee y otras ciudades), Canada, italia y Holanda.

Invitado a tocar en el LATIN AMERICAN CULTURAL WEEK in New York city y a dar un CURSO DE TANGO “Herencia y modernidad" en la New York Public Library - en Updown Manhattan el 18 de noviembre de 2018.

 Convocado como arreglador para el Homenaje a Chico Novarro organizado por la Provincia de Santa Fe el 29 de octubre del 2018.

La asociación nacional de intérpretes de Argentina lo distinguió como grupo revelación de tango en el 2010 y ha tocado junto a Santa Fe Jazz Ensamble, Guillermo Fernandez, Nestor Marconi, Pablo Agri, Daniel Falasca, Horacio Romo, Lidia Borda, Gerardo Gandini, Virginia Tola, Nestor Ausqui, Robby Ameen, Conrad Herwig, Paquito D’Rivera, Ricardo Cavalli, Deacon Jones, Tony Coleman, Orquesta Sinfónica de Santa Fe y otros.

Docente

Ejerce actualmente como docente de Armonía, Orquestación e Instrumentación, Piano popular, Formas y análisis de Música popular y Arreglos, en el Liceo Municipal de Música de Santa Fe, el Instituto Superior de Música de la Universidad Nacional del Litoral y en la Universidad Autónoma de Entre Ríos.

Docente y director del " Ensamble de Tango del ISM” de la Universidad Nacional del Litoral.

GABRIEL DE PEDRO  is a Pianist, composer, arranger and teacher born in Santa Fe city  from Argentina, dedicated to the Argentinean Popular Music.

He is a professor graduated from the High Institute of Music from Santa Fe at the Litoral National University. In 2007 and 2010 he was awarded for his compositions at a national and Ibero-American level, in 2008 he was distinguished by the National Academy of Tango in Rosario-ARG and invited to play at the Capital Federal headquarters. He also participated in the International Tango Festival of Quito, Ecuador. Special guest to represent Santa Fe in the "Patria Tanguera" cycle of the CCK (2016) and in the Tango Festival and World 2013 (Piano and director "Postangos" by Gerardo Gandini), 2017 with Andrea Eletti and in the Festival " Tango ours for the world "Ecuador 2018.

 

In his city he was chosen for the 2014 Scenario Awards and Mascara 2015.

 

He has participated in Jazz, Latinjazz  and Tango, currently directs his own Tango Quintet. The National Association of Interpreters from Argentina distinguished him as a tango revelation group in 2010 and has played as a side man with Santa Fe Jazz Ensemble, Guillermo Fernandez, Nestor Marconi, Horacio Romo, Lidia Borda, Gerardo Gandini, Virginia Tola, Nestor Ausqui, Robby Ameen, Conrad Herwig, Paquito D'Rivera, Ricardo Cavalli, Deacon Jones, Tony Coleman, Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra and others.

He currently works as a teacher of Harmony, Orchestration and Instrumentation, Popular Piano, Forms and Analysis of Popular Music and Arrangements, at the City hall Music School of Santa Fe, the Superior Institute of Music of the National University of the Litoral and the Autonomous University of Between rivers.
